Day 1: After our morning pickups (listed below) we travel westwards through the Midlands of Ireland and make a stop for lunch enroute in the town of Athlone on the Banks of the River Shannon (at own cost) before arriving early evening in the town of Ennis in County Clare. Ennis situated on the River Fergus, is the capital of County Clare. It’s an historical town and is certainly one of Clare’s most characterful and picturesque centres towns. Famous Irish people such as Daniel O Connell and Eamon De Velera have links with this historic vibrant town. Later this evening we have dinner in the hotel, which is followed by entertainment

Day 2: This morning we head for the Wild Atlantic Coast and visit the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. It is a UNESCO World heritage site and has magnificent views of the Aran Islands and the Clare coast. On a good clear day you can see the distant mountains in Connemara and as far south as the coast of Kerry

We later travel through the Burren region of County Clare. A barren limestone landscape covering over 250 square kilometres. Come Spring the Burren blossoms into a unique rock garden, with wildflowers bursting up through the limestone rocks. It’s an extraordinary sight, even more so when you consider the ancient seeds were borne from Alpine, Arctic and Mediterranean climates.

This afternoon, you are free in Ennis to discover this truly historic town. Afterwards we return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3: This morning we travel to Foynes, and learn about the history of Aviation and how the Irish coffee was invented (and taste one!!). Travel back to the 1930s and ’40s, when Foynes played a pivotal role in transatlantic passenger flights. Learn the history of Flying Boats and the diverse range of people who arrived and departed at the visitor centre.

Learn how Chef Joe Sheridan invented Irish coffee in Foynes for weary passengers returning to the airport restaurant after bad weather forced their flight to turn back. Complete the experience with an authentic Irish coffee for yourself.

Later we visit Limerick City. Set on the River Shannon it is a lively city bubbling with grand architecture, museums and plenty of shops to keep everyone happy. We return to the hotel for our evening entertainment.

Day 4: This morning we take the short trip to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. THE Castle is a 15th century stronghold restored to its medieval splendour. After our tour of the Castle we have some tea and freshly made scones. At the Folk Park you experience Rural farmhouses, village shops and streets that are recreated and furnished as they would have appeared over a Century ago.

Before we return to our hotel have a Drink in Durty Nelly’s pub beside the Folk Park or shop at the Woollen Mills across the road. Choice is yours.

We return to our hotel early evening in time for dinner.

Day 5: This morning after breakfast and a late check out we begin our journey home. We travel a different route heading into County Galway and we make a stop for lunch in the Midlands (at own cost). We then travel back towards Dublin and our drop off points in time to beat the rush hour traffic and should arrive home early evening.
