 Giant's Causeway

June 2nd (Bank Holiday Weekend)

After our morning pickups enjoy a day out on the Antrim coast and experience one of Irelands most visited heritage sites, the Giants Causeway. Our tour takes the Antrim coastal route which is studded with sandy beaches, fishing villages, gorse-covered valleys and fuchsia-edged clifftop paths.

We make a morning stop for tea/coffee in the picturesque village of Carnlough at the Londonderry Arms, once owned by British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill. The town also has a very picturesque harbour from which on a good day you can see the coast of Scotland. The Coastal driver also has many sights that have featured in the HBO series “Game of Thrones”. This has become one of the most popular TV series ever made and mostly made in Northern Ireland.

The most spectacular attraction along the route is the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (included visit). The causeway features a vast collection of 60-million-year old six-sided basalt columns.

Hear about the Legendary Giant Fionn Mac Cumhaill and his many battles and escapades with the Scottish Giant Benandonner when he comes rambling over the causeway and how the Scottish giant smashed the causeway running back to Scotland in fear of Fionn. After our visit we travel back through the County Antrim Countryside and the City of Belfast with fond memories of our day of the Antrim Coast.
