Do we accept free travel passes on our commuter services?

Matthews.ie are delighted to accept the Department of Social Protection Free Travel Pass on the following outbound and return routes:
Dundalk – Drogheda – Dublin (Cumberland St North & UCD) 
Bettystown and Laytown to Dublin (Cumberland St Northt and UCD)
Dublin (Cumberland St North) to Bettystown and Laytown

Matthews.ie are obliged to ensure that the person presenting a pass is the same person whose name is stated on the Free Travel Pass. Drivers/inspectors may ask to see supporting ID including photographic ID.


How do I connect to the free Wi-Fi service?

 When you select our network (Matthews_Free_WiFi) a login page should pop up. Tick the ‘I accept the terms and conditions’ box and then click connect. This should give you free Wi-Fi access for the duration of your journey.

The Wi-Fi service is provided by Fleetconnect. If you are experiencing problems connecting to the Wi-Fi service please call the customer support number provided by Fleetconnect on 0818 333 388.


What do I need to send when applying for a Taxsaver Commuter Ticket?

Please complete the application form to apply for a taxsaver ticket. You may apply for your taxsaver ticket online or dowload a PDF version. The ticket will be issued once payment has been received. Your application form should be accompanied by two passport photographs. 


How long will it take to process my application form for my Taxsaver Commuter Ticket?

We would appreciate if you could submit your application form and passport photographs two weeks in advance of the requested start date. This will allow time for processing and return postage. 


Do I need to reserve seats for Croke Park, The 3 Arena, Aviva Stadium or RDS Services?

Croke Park
Our commuter service stops in Drumcondra, across from Quinn’s Pub, if there is a match on in Croke Park we will have extra coaches on standby for services. However if there is a concert on in Croke Park, we would ask passengers to contact us to help ensure a smooth service for such events. For return services we would recommend that passengers go to Cumberland Street North, as there may be traffic restrictions in place in Drumcondra.

The 3Arena
In general we service all concerts at The 3Arena.  We ask passengers to inform us of the size of their group and departure point to ensure they can be accommodated. Services are subject to minimum numbers.  Please check the Matthews.ie app or our

Aviva Stadium
As we service the Aviva Stadium on an event basis seats for this service must be booked. Please check the Matthews.ie app or our 
Concerts and Events page for information on specific events and gigs. To book seats call our office on 042 9378188.

As we service the RDS on an event basis, seats for this service must be booked.

How long will my ticket last?

Return and 10 Trip Tickets do not have an expiry date and can be used on any route, however they must be legible. Tax Saver Commuter Tickets have an expiry date printed on them, relating to the length of the ticket purchased.      


Can I take a bicycle on the Commuter Service?

Yes, you can take a bicycle in the luggage compartment underneath. Please note that items are carried at the owners risk and we would recommend that you lock your bicycle to the internal frame of the coach so that it does not move during travel.
